When to See a Colorectal Cancer Surgeon

You should consider seeing a colorectal cancer surgeon if you’ve noticed suspicious symptoms of the disease, or if you've already been diagnosed with colorectal cancer and would like to seek a second opinion, or if your GP suspects that you may have the condition.

Early intervention is crucial, as surgical treatment is often a key component of potentially curing colorectal cancer. If you experience symptoms such as rectal bleeding, persistent abdominal pain, changes in bowel habits, or unexplained weight loss, it is recommended to consult with a specialist who can evaluate your condition and determine the next course of action.

Even if your symptoms are mild, seeing a colon cancer surgeon can provide peace of mind (even if to rule out cancer) and ensure that you receive appropriate care.
